A Study Of . . . Washington NJ / Railroad Station Demolition, Thu, Sep 30, 1982, #006

#006 washington nj railroad station demolition

Playing the waiting (room) game.  This waiting room has hosted thousands of people who were waiting for a train, either to board it, or perhaps to greet a loved one who just arrived in town. But now, the only waiting being done is by the waiting room itself, as it waits for its untimely demise. This is the last picture taken of the room, and it clearly shows the deteriorated condition of the structure from vandalism, not from the demolition process; this is how the place looked when the razing began.  (Photo and caption by Thomas Allen Kelley)
