A Study Of . . . Washington NJ / Railroad Station Demolition, Sat, Oct 9, 1982, #019

#019 washington nj railroad station demolition

Picture this.  People came from far and wide to pay homage to the landmark, and they mourned its passing in various ways. Here we see a local woman who came armed with not one, but two cameras. She's taking a picture for herself with her box Brownie, then she'll take a picture with her brother's Kodak folding camera (sitting on the rail), so he'll have a record of the end of an era, since he was out of town at the time of the demolition.  (Photo and caption by Thomas Allen Kelley)
